Research standards

We distinguish catalogue research from hands-on testing.

Most TrendPilot shopping surfaces are built from seller, marketplace, affiliate and catalogue evidence. We do not label that process as physical product testing.

Catalogue and seller research

TrendPilot can evaluate product titles, images, prices, product roles, seller identity, model or SKU evidence and destination links. Those checks help decide whether a result is relevant and how much confidence to place in the listing.

Hands-on testing

A product should only be described as hands-on tested when the specific page documents that testing. The general catalogue, comparison and Rare Find systems should not imply physical testing simply because a product appears on the site.

What we verify automatically

Automated quality checks can test search behavior, broken pages, seller-policy leakage, product-role purity, layout, contrast, internal links and whether public product records have the expected identifiers or destinations.

What the seller still controls

Only the seller can confirm current stock, checkout price, shipping, warranty, returns and marketplace-specific availability. Ticket sellers also control current event inventory and seating information.
